I thought I would share a bit more about myself and answer a “Get to Know Me” Tag. I love reading these on blogs and thought it would be fun to answer some questions.
So here goes!
Does your name have a meaning and does this describe you well?
Harriet means “Rules the Home” which does describe me pretty well! I do like things to be in order and running well and have a natural tendency to be a little bossy at times.
What is one irrational fear you have had that you have overcome?
I used to be petrified of the dentist. I had a really bad experience when I had 4 wisdom teeth removed. It took me years to get the courage to go back. But I really wanted to set a good example for my children and me being petrified of the dentist was not the example I wanted. I found a new dentist and went through 2 years of wearing adult braces to now have a set of gnashers that I am very proud of!
When was the last time you cried?
Before I had children I barely ever cried but since having children I definitely cry more. The last time I cried was last week when my 10-month-old son had been really poorly and we had been back and forth to the doctors. I was feeling so frustrated and worried that I couldn’t help him get better quicker. He has now made a full recovery and is absolutely fine but at the time it was the worst thing in the world seeing him being poorly.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
I don’t really know how to describe my fashion sense, I just wear what I feel comfortable in and what I think suits me. I dabble in the “trends” every now and again however, crop tops and high waisted jeans will never look good on me.
What is a guilty pleasure of yours?
I love reality tv, Love Island, Big Brother, TOWIE and Made in Chelsea are some of my favourites. There is nothing better in an evening than putting the kids to bed and curling up on the sofa to watch some utter trash and laugh at the mad things that people do on these shows.
Do you have kids?
Yes, 2 boys. Preston is 3 years old and Reuben is about to turn 1.
What is one question that you get asked a lot that really annoys you?
I get asked constantly by friends, family and complete strangers whether we are going to try for a girl. The answer is no, I am completely fulfilled with my two boys and do not feel the need to “try for a girl”.
Favourite smell other than a perfume?
Freshly cut grass in the summer is the best smell in the world.
Do you have any hobbies?
Being a working mum I have very little spare time these days. I love writing and so my blog is my favourite hobby. I have been fortunate enough to meet some lovely people through blogging. I also go to the gym and try my best to keep fit. I love to try new recipes and find new ways to eat well.
Do you have any pets?
I have a miniature dachshund called Dudley.
What did you want to grow up to be when you were a child?
I loved reading medical journals from a very young age, very odd I know! I used to save up my pocket money and subscribe to a medical journal. I later realised that however fascinated I was by medicine I was way too squeamish to actually ever be a doctor or nurse.
What Sports do you play/Have you played?
I have zero abilities when it comes to sports. I was the kid who always had an excuse to get out of P.E in school.
What is your favourite memory from your childhood?
We could never afford to go on family holidays abroad but we did have a few holidays to Cornwall growing up which I remember fondly.
