I have finally found my holy grail fake tan. Its taken me 10 long years of fake tanning to get here with many a fake tan fail under my tanning mit but finally, I have found a fake tan that I want to share with everyone! I have been using the Vita Liberata Invisi Mousse for a couple of weeks now, and I love it.
For a fake tan to be given the status of Holy Grail in my book, it must be:
- easy to apply
- super quick to dry, so I can get dressed straight away and not have my clothes sticking to me
- preferably no colour guide because I hate walking around with what looks like mud smeared all over me
- no smell or at least a very light pleasant scent
- go a NATURAL tan colour, not bright Oompa Loompa orange like so many do
Why is the Vita Liberata Invisi Mousse Different?
I have found a lot of the tans I have used are pretty good, but they all have a colour guide. While this colour guide can help on the application, so you don’t miss a patch, I always feel ridiculous leaving the housing with the guide on. This means I usually fake tan at night, so no one but my other half gets to see me in my mid-fake tan state and wash it off in the morning. I don’t like wearing fake tan in bed as it messes up the sheets and it isn’t the most attractive thing in bed, is it?
The Vita Liberata Invisi Mousse has no colour guide. The mouse is a white and goes on quickly, drying almost instantly. After applying the mousse, I can get dressed in my regular everyday clothes without anyone knowing I’m wearing fake tan, amazing! The tan barely smells of anything on application but after an hour or so I don’t even notice the smell. After about 4 hours the tan starts to develop into a lovely golden natural looking tan. No marks are left on my clothes and by the late afternoon I have a lovely golden tan.
How long did the tan last?
I can wear this tan for about 3-4 days and then I need to reapply. However, I do moisturise every night that I am wearing tan as everyone knows the golden rule of fake tanning is moisturising. If you don’t keep the moisture in your skin when you are wearing fake tan then your tan will go patchy. The best moisturiser to use is one that is oil-free so that it doesn’t break up the tan on the skin. I have found that the St Tropez Tan Enhancing Moisturiser is the best moisturiser to use to stop the tan wearing away patchy.
So it’s clear that I love the tan but is there anything I would change? I did try the tan on the back of my hands the first time I used it, and it didn’t look very natural but this is the case with most fake tans I use. I have very dry hands that get continuously washed with 2 kids to look after. I always apply a gradual tan mixed with a body lotion for the back of my hands, and I do this every night that I’m wearing the tan to keep my hands looking natural.
The Vita Liberata Invisi Mousse isn’t the cheapest fake tan. I paid £25 in boots for mine which is around the same price point as St Tropez products, but I do believe you get what you pay for with tanning products. The bottle has lasted me about 4 weeks, tanning twice a week, so around 8 applications which is £3 a tan, which I am more than happy with.
I love the Vita Liberat Invisi Mousse; it is a complete game changer for me. This tan allows me to fake tan in the morning, go to work and come home looking like I have spent the day in the south of France sunning myself! Who wouldn’t want that?! I think its great value for money too.
Let me know what you think of this new fake tan and let me know what your Holy Grail fake tan products are.
